  2. Influence of neuronal cell adhesion molecule (NCAM1) variants on suicidal behaviour and correlated traits - Abstract: Suicide is a public health problem all around the world. Family studies showed a strong heritability but, to date, few genetic data are available. Thus, in the present study we investigated whether a panel of single nucleotide polymorphisms (SNPs) in neuronal cell adhesion molecule 1 (NCAM) 1 was associated with suicidal behaviour as well as specific traits related to suicide. A total of two hundred and fifty-nine individuals with a positive history of suicidal behaviour and 312 healthy subjects were enrolled in the study. Rs2301228, rs1884, rs1245113, rs1369816, rs2196456 and rs584427 in NCAM1 were genotyped. No marker was significantly associated with suicidal behaviour vs. controls or with sub-types of attempted vs. completed, violent vs. non-violent, impulsive vs. non-impulsi...

World Youth Conference: Why It Pays to Invest in Young People - 27 August 2010 - LEON, Mexico — The idea that governments must invest more in young people been repeated in forums and panels throughout the World Youth Conference this week. 13. Opening Statement at the World Youth Conference 2010 - 25 August 2010 - I have two messages for you today. My first message is that NOW is the time to invest in young people. My second message is that NOW is the time to promote dialogue and understanding across cultures and generations, to advance human rights for all people, both young and old. I say now is the time because young people are not just the future; they are very much the present. (Source: UNFPA News)

Blizz announced the new loot system for cataclysm, the new loot system only has 2 levels normal and heroic, so there is no need to do 25′s anymore, the same loot drops on normal 10 as normal 25, same goes for the heroic version.
I do understand the reasoning but don’t know why it took them so long to do it, also the badge system for Cataclysm would stay the same as it is, unlike the old system there will be no new badges every time they add new raids.

The new 3.3.3 patch

What a waste of time, why bother doing a whole patch of nothing, you could have just added those in your weekly maintenance, just to say I am very disappointed with this patch, the only good things are the removal of the CD’s, what I am not sure of is adding a CD while removing one, why would you place a 7 day CD on glacial bags? I hope the next patch would actually include new content because I am getting really tired of this.

The New Cow Level….

I love the new random group dungeon finder, it reminds me of the Diablo II cow leveling, if you recall the cow level you can join at lvl 1 and in few runs make it to 90 or above.

Time to make an alt, agian…

After doing daily’s on all my 10 toons every day since the frostys have come out I got really board and decided to level an alt on another relm, I got really board just doing CD’s and dailys every day, it became intolerable and the only thing that would keep me a wow addict was to go back to what I love doing before, level up another toon, this is going back to my previous point about Hard Mode, I am now have  a new level 79 dual spec ret/tank paladin, took me 8 day to get him to this level, in the 3.3.3 patch Blizzard added the quest helper equivalent to the game, while I have learn to level toons real fast it made it even easier to track and finish quests, they’ve also made change to many of the other aspects of the game such as faster rep and faster mounts at lower levels to make it even easier, I can see me doing heroics for the next few weeks just to get the tier set.

As new player start WoW for the first time they do have it easy, I am glad I did learn the hard way.

Hard mode

I think everyone has noticed how its getting easier to level and quest for the past two years, this I think will continue for the next patch and expansion as well, while dumbing down many hardcore players have complained about, many more have praised them. In my guild there are only 10% hardcore gamers while the rest are casual, WoW give us hardcore progression and casuals the epix they might not get unless they are raiding, the idea of epic gear is lost, I recall a day when I was level 60 priest and didn’t even have a full set of .5 dungeon set. what do I think of this? I think its good to have more players and its bad that most don’t even get to raid even thought they have a full tier 10 set.

I don’t think so and here is why, Blizzard’s way ahead of everyone else, and with each expansion it gets better, I think Blizzard’s World of Warcraft would is similar to Microsoft’s Windows, while Windows isn’t the best in many ways it’s the most popular and most used OS, with each update and each new upgrade Windows gets better by using other’s improvements, Blizzard has over 10 Million players, that’s over 1 Billion per year, they would never let WoW die, they would just improve and use Others enhancements into theirs, hence the game will always be there.
